The Therapy Process
Our approach
All clients
Path to Speech follows a family centred approach and works in partnership with parents and our clients (depending on their age) to develop goals, intervention and strategies that will work best. We use a tailored approach to educate and up-skill the parents and clients so that they can build their own capacity when developing their goals. We believe that effective therapy occurs in the client's naturalistic environment such as their home or school as it allows us to target goals to their immediate needs.

Early Childhood
We use a naturalistic approach paired with Hanen principles such as 'following their lead' to help develop their language, communication, speech, social and pragmatic goals. We have worked with clients who have different speech sound disorders as well as complex speech sound disorders and use the most up to date evidence to treat this.

School Aged
Path to Speech uses evidence based therapy approaches for literacy intervention, language intervention as well as speech intervention for school aged clients. We regularly liaise with teachers, SLSOs as well as parents to ensure that the goals that are targeted will help to support the clients at school and align with the school curriculum. We use a structured, systematic, synthetic phonics program called Sounds Write and have up-skilled in several short courses to support with literacy, language and speech intervention.
